Job Description / Responsibility

• Organisation Description:
• BLAST is a leading national legal aid and human rights organisation providing legal advice, mediation, and litigation services, and undertaking advocacy to ensure the rights of women, men and children living in poverty or facing discrimination/social exclusion. BLAST works through its Head Office in Dhaka and 19 District-level Offices with 2500+ panel lawyers and 100+partner organisations.
• Position Description:
• BLAST is currently searching for a full time Junior Librarian immediately.
• You will be responsible for maintain the Library with more than 5000 books, journals etc. You will report to a senior management team and be involved in working with all working team of BLAST and communicate and network with different agencies, libraries, experts and NGOs.
• Responsibilities:
• The successful candidate will
• a) maintaining all books properly
• b) maintaining catalogue and call numbers for all books
• c) maintaining records of books and related files
• d) guiding library users to find information
• e) keeping records regarding issues and returns of books
• f) preparing notes regarding purchasing books/journals/reports etc
• g) initiating purchasing books and journal as per requisition
• h) submitting bills to the administration and accounts department
• i) coordinating and communicating different libraries
• j) preparing reports related to library
• k) performing all other duties as and when assigned by the Authority
• Location: Dhaka
• Closing Date: 27 July 2013

Educational Requirements

• Qualifications
• • Masters degree in Library Science with at least 2-3 years experience in managing a library
• • Ability to work independently
• • Advanced computer skills.

Experience Requirements: 2 to 3 year(s)

Additional Job Requirements

Performing all other duties as and when assigned by the Authority
